HANDLE THIS THEN SWITCH IT: INTENTIONAL ROPE HANDLING

  • Studio 201 232 Southeast Oak Street Portland, OR, 97214 United States (map)

Most workshops involve a tying pair where one person is doing the tying and one person is being tied. But what happens when a tying partnership is two switches? There is so much more to rope than a single column tie so let’s flip flop it, reverse it, share it, and switch it up. Discover rope beyond the basics in this floor rope workshop. Join Natalie Rose for an engaging session where you'll learn accessible rope handling techniques that can immediately enhance your scenes. From exploring inventive ties to integrating rope, body movement, energy exchange, and music, you can craft a unique floor scene. No prior rope experience is necessary, making this class inclusive for all. Regardless of your skill level, you'll relish in newfound ways to skillfully maneuver a length of rope, infusing playfulness and creativity into your scenes. Join us for an experience that celebrates diversity, fosters creativity, and transcends the mechanical into truly fun rope. This workshop is most effective for a tying pair, a person to tie and a person to be tied, providing maximum effectiveness in partnered learning.
